Hartins After Darks Special Edition AMHA/AMHR Registered
"Booger", as we called him, is one of the most wonderful geldings to have ever come to our farm. He was one of the top show geldings...winning a LOT in the show ring. But, he wasn't your typical gelding...being very spirited and challenging. He was a wonderful horse...and we adored him. You never knew what he was going to do next but he always kept it interesting...and he looked amazing, even when he was getting into something he shouldn't have. We will always love "Booger" and miss his antics...
Candy Meadows Tiny Chicklet AMHA/AMHR Registered
Chicklet is easily one of the most colorful mares I have ever shown. I showed her as a weanling, where she was hauled all over the U.S. and was undefeated. She was U.S. National All-Star Champion. Unfortunately, the morning of our trip to Nationals, we were doing some last minute trimming and Chicklet jumped up in the air. Afraid she could hurt herself, I "caught" her mid-air...but in doing so fell backwards and broke my arm in 5 places. And, who says a 50 lb. baby can't hurt you? She was an amazing little show filly who should have been a National Champion if we hadn't have withdrawn from the show...
Masquerade is one of the kindest, sweetest mares ever...and she LOVED being a show horse. She was always "on" and was only defeated once in halter. She was an awesome Liberty horse as well...making up her own tricks as she went along. She knew her music better than most dancers. Masquerade made it an abolute pleasure to show her. Needless to say she made a fantastic broodmare and her daughters have much the same attributes. Masquerade is a gem and there will never be another one like her...
Sweetbriars Hot Fudge Sundae AMHA/AMHR Registered
Fudge was the one who helped me make a name for myself as a trainer. At 14 years of age, we purchased him as a yearling stallion for a pet. I gelded him and began showing him in Open and Youth. In less than 2 years he was the Winningest Halter Gelding in the history of AMHA. He won numerous World Championships in Open and Youth Halter as well as Showmanship. We were one heck of a team and it was very rare for a youth to go beat the pros in open halter. I remember one World Gelding class had over 60 geldings in it and all 5 judges put Fudge first. He and I had a lot of fun toegther...and I wish I could have him back all over again for my daughter. To say he is special to me is an understatement...
Modern Beau Snippet AMHA/AMHR Registered
One of the most natural show colts I have ever shown...Beau Snippet was a very mature colt...pictured here at less than 5 months of age. He was a tall, leggy, beautiful colt who was out of Snippets Red Tape's full sister. He had so much try in him and would show his little heart out for me. I've had and seen a lot of pretty babies in my lifetime...but Beau Snippet will always remain on of the nicest colts ever in my eye...
Little Kings Miss Buckeroo AMHA/AMHR Registered
"Missy" was one of the most beautiful mares...and one of the most bold and arrogant ones as well. She could be difficult and you just had to let her think she was getting her way. She has been to some good trainers but nobody could get along with her...until she came here. I adored her, pampered her...and thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of fitting and showing her. It paid off as when we got to World, her owner didn't even recognize her! Missy won it all...and I consider myself fortunate for getting to know this great mare...
Sturgeon's Skip AQHA Registered
Skip was one of the very first top-notch quarter horses I had the pleasure of showing. He and I traveled a lot of miles together. He was the most versatile horse...and won it all...halter, showmanship, Western events, English Events...you name it, he did it. Bless his heart...he knew everything the announcer would ask us to do and execute it before I could even cue him. He was a super horse. I hope someday I will have another one like him for my daughter. Although I have to say that we could search far and wide and never find another Skip. He was a champion in the Quarter Horse World and 4-H. But, even if he never won a thing, he would have still been one of the best horses ever in my eyes...
Copper Pine Flower AQHA Registered
Copper was a filly that we showed in halter and later in Western Pleasure. She was many time Champion and Futurity winner. She was a beautiful filly...very feminine and pretty. She was given to me as a gift and she was a joy to show and train. She was the happiest little mare and very tiny for her age. If you know anything about Quarter halter classes...the smallest horse doesn't always win. But Copper had a lot of class that any judge couldn't deny and she beat mares who were much larger than she was. She was one I wish I could have kept as I know she would have been a wonderful broodmare...
Cute Bobbi Thoroughbred Registered
If I were to list all the winning racehorses my father had...I would be here for months compiling the list. But there is one that I would like to put on here from way back. I guess you can say she was the mare who gave me my "racing bug". She was named after me and ran her very first race as a two-year-old on my first birthday...which she won EASILY! What a phenomenal little mare she was and yes, that baby in the photo is me. My father is holding our mare and my mother is holding me. What a great birthday present! She is one of thousands of racehorses my father had over the years...but this photo is very special to me. My Dad didn't like a jockey who wouldn't listen to instructions or who was heavy-handed with his horses...and I heard him say many times over the years to them, "You just sit there and let her do the running". I think Cute Bobbi heard him too...the jockey wasn't even carrying a whip.
